FAQ Which elements can be customised when making an artwork crate?

Transexpo's carpentry department has expertise in manufacturing custom crates.
Our team knows the specifications of each lending museum and adapts the design
of the crates taking into account the smallest details.

Many elements can be customised when manufacturing a crate:

- Quality and thickness of the wood
- Phytosanitary control of the wood (ISPM15 for crates travelling
internationally)
- Quality and thickness of the foam
- Quality and thickness of the insulation for isothermal crates
- Positioning of wedges and internal supports
- Presence or absence of a vapour barrier covering the entire crate
- Type of seal
- System for assembling elements by staple, nail or screw
- Type of fastenings for the opening elements of the crate
- Type of base for the crate (skis or pallet pads)
- Type and positioning of handles
- Type and positioning of security systems (key locks, seals, etc.)
- Type and positioning of sensors (impact indicator, overturning indicator,
temperature indicator, data logger for temperature and humidity, etc.)
- Possibility to paint the crate in the RAL chosen by the client
- Possibility to add texts and symbols on the surface of the crate

We transport works of art, but our crates themselves are often true masterpieces!
