Manufacture of custom crates for a temporary exhibition in Lille

Transexpo was recently chosen to transport the works presented as part of a temporary exhibition near Lille in the Nord region. 

This exhibition of ancient art included works from major museums in Paris and the rest of France. 

The service included the manufacture of packaging tailored to each work and in particular a dozen custom-made crates, respecting the precise specifications from each lending museum. 

Transexpo's carpentry department consists of experts renowned for manufacturing custom crates. Many elements of our crates are customisable to perfectly match the expectations of the works' owners. 

For this exhibition we manufactured different types of crates:

• Gallery-type crates 
• Museum-type crates 
• Isothermal crates, lined with insulation
• Fully-painted super-isothermal crates with double insulation thickness separated by an air chamber
• Sculpture crates with closed cleats fitted with foam 
• Sliding crates for a series of framed drawings under glass

A technical visit had been organised beforehand to assess all the works and their setting and to inspect the access points.

The lenders of the works particularly appreciated our crates' level of finish and our crate makers/packers' attention to the smallest detail.
