The prestigious Château d’Hardelot, located in the Pas-de-Calais (62), recently underwent a large-scale relocation operation orchestrated by Transexpo. This project, involving the movement of over 100 artworks, once again demonstrates our expertise in art transportation and château relocation.
Among the items moved, there was a wide variety of furniture, paintings, and sculptures, including works in ceramic, bronze, and marble. Our staff took into account the fragility of each piece, handling them with extreme care to ensure their preservation throughout the operation.
As part of this mission, around ten paintings were delivered back from the château comtal in Boulogne-sur-Mer. This operation is part of a dynamic collection management process, allowing artworks to circulate and be accessible to a wider audience.
Our team transferred all the artworks to a neighboring exhibition hall at the Château d’Hardelot. This new venue will offer visitors an enriching experience in a newly arranged setting designed to highlight these artistic treasures.
The service provided by Transexpo was carried out with precise accuracy over a two-day period. A team of six packers, including two team leaders, was mobilized for this delicate task. The process of uninstalling, packing, and rehanging the artworks was performed with the utmost rigor, ensuring the safety and integrity of each item.
This artwork relocation at the Château d’Hardelot perfectly illustrates Transexpo’s expertise and commitment in managing and transporting art objects. Our teams, trained in the best practices of conservation and handling, are dedicated to protecting and promoting cultural heritage.
As a trusted partner of cultural institutions, Transexpo continues to distinguish itself through the quality of its services and its constant pursuit of excellence. We are proud to contribute to the showcasing of artistic treasures that enrich our collective heritage.
