Our Transexpo Île-de-France branch was responsible for transporting the exhibition "La renaissance des femmes" to the Royal Château of Blois (41).
Managing national or international temporary exhibitions is a speciality of Transexpo, which works with the largest museums and art foundations in France and abroad.
A turnkey service
For this exhibition, Transexpo offered a turnkey service including:
Site visits to the various lenders of the works
The manufacture of packaging tailored to each work, in particular a dozen custom-made crates respecting the precise specifications of each lending museum
Packing each work on the various lenders' premises, then loading and transporting them to the Château of Blois
Managing the security escorts accompanying the works: preparing and distributing per diems, tickets, hotel nights, etc.
Unloading the works and positioning the crates in the different rooms of the temporary exhibition
Unpacking the works in the presence of the accompanying security escorts
Full coordination of the project, in liaison with the organisers, the exhibition and the various lenders
This service did not include installation of the works, but Transexpo offers its clients these services in order to cover all their needs when organising a temporary exhibition.
Renowned lenders and a wide variety of works of art
Among the 20 or so lenders to the exhibition were leading institutions such as the Louvre, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF), the Palace of Versailles, the Château de Fontainebleau, and the Musée Fabre in Montpellier.
The roughly 60 works presented in this temporary exhibition were highly diverse, mostly 2D (oils on canvas, drawings) but also furniture, some costumes and small decorative period objects.
Teamwork with local Transexpo branches
To carry out this project, Transexpo Île-de-France could count on support from its network of branches, with help from Transexpo Centre in Poitiers (86), Transexpo Atlantique in Nantes (44) and Transexpo Provence in Aix-Marseille (13) with packing and transporting some works to Blois.
